Will my visit be covered by my insurance?
Your coverage is dependant upon your particular insurance plan. If you have coverage through one of the plans below, we are in-network where you have the highest coverage. Even if your insurance plan is not on this list, you may still have coverage contact your plan directly.
The office participates with the following plans:
- CareFirst of Maryland BlueCross Blue Shield PPO, PPN, POS, indemnity
(Note: Blue Choice (HMO) is not a participating insurance) - Federal Care First BCBS
- Medicare non-HMO (we will accept Medicare Advantage PPO plans)
- Railroad Medicare
- Cigna (except Dr. Jan Brown)
- Aetna (except Dr. Jan Brown)
- United Health Care (except Dr. Jan Brown)
Even if your insurance is NOT on this list, you may still have some "out of network benefit." We suggest you contact your carrier to learn the details. Our office fees are reasonable. We will file claims to your carrier if it is NOT an HMO.
Copays, deductibles and coinsurance amounts are collected at the time of service for participating insurances. Full charges are collected for non-participating insurances.
Cosmetic services are:
1. Provided primarily to improve appearance
2. Services that are not medically necessary are rarely covered by insurance.
I am embarrassed by my psoriasis condition. What can you do to help?
Psoriasis treatments are improving every year. New creams, gels and oral medications hold great promise. We offer a broad range of topical corticosteroid and non-corticosteroid combinations as well as oral retinoids and methotrexate. For extensive psoriasis, phototherapy with PUVA (psoralen tablets and UV light) and NB-UVB are conveniently available at this office.
Many biologic therapies have been introduced and offer significant chance of improvement in severe psoriasis. For more information, see www.nationalpsoriasisfoundation.org
Could I give someone a service, like a face peel, as a gift?
Yes, the office offers gift certificates for any amount or for a particular service. They make a wonderful, thoughtful gift that allows that special someone to be pampered.
